Stop-Out Varnish

This is a black acrylic-based paint that should not be applied too thick. Use a paintbrush to apply it. It can be applied to a plate with aquatint, hard ground, or soft ground; it can also be applied to a blank plate. It is a medium that protects the plate from the ferric. Anything under the stop-out varnish will stay safe/not bite during etching process.
